Red Rose Event :)

Hey guys !




I got to take part with a brilliant event spreading "Peace" at Marina Walk Dubai yesterday called "  Rose Event Dubai " ... conveniently spelling " RED"

Now that I look back, I wish could have been more involved with the prep-work that went into it ! But in any case, a brief idea about the event, it's centered around promoting peace through sayings and quotes placed on Roses and given out to people of course for free :)

The event was scheduled to run from 7pm to 9pm and me being the genius I considered myself with direction  I ended up on JBR "The Walk" at 7pm where I spent 45 minutes trying to find parking and then walking half the walk to realize that one of the landmarks given out to all the volunteers for gathering " Marriot " hotel was no where to be found. Only after speaking to several people did dawn on me there's actually another " The Walk " but this one's called Marina Walk !

So I spent another hour and reached Marina Walk by 8: 30 and spent another good 20 minutes looking for parking spot, finally meeting with all the volunteers at 9pm.

In any case, I've got amazing friends that still greeted me as if I'd been there from the start * Ahmad, Fahmi, Nabtititttt, Ya'all are awesome *

Was nice to hear feedback from the volunteers and people that had received roses on the experience plus with it being the second day of Eid, it just added more and more to the festive flare

Got to share a good hearty dinner, and I still did my part, had 7 roses they left for me, and I made sure I gave them out towards the end :)

 EID <3 & Brand of the week

I'm going to be starting a new segment if you will, about brands that I thought deserve a mention for whatever reason (usually cause their adding to the awesomeness to the offline/online community) but before I start talking about this weeks brand, got to talk about the topic on most people's minds " EID "

Eid means a number of things, for everyone own points of view. For some it means the time that family gets together and share in festivities  for others it means the benefit of an extended break ( sorry non GCC countries, can't touch this or rather us on the number of holidays we get), and honestly many will tell you and I would agree more with this: it's the sharing of positivity and greetings with everyone you meet, doesn't matter if their Muslim or not, it's sharing a smile, a greeting and maybe even a hug !

Quick things to know about this EID, it's not the one that comes after Ramadan which is referred to as Eid ul Fitr, this one is celebrated after Hajj and is called Eid ul Adha :) *and this Eid deals with a lot more cooking of all things meat ! We're talking  Steaks, Ribs, Stew's, Soups and more*

In any case, just thought I'd throw that out there !

Just so you know, there isn't any hidden agenda, just talking about them cause I feel they've been great on twitter ! With the week in full swing, theirs literally so much to do but most AUS students like myself are tied down with Exams!

Infact good ol Sunday was spent planning and dreading reading the chapters and now in posting a blog at 6am in the morning hoping to finish studying for that 12:30 midterm today ( its on black and while old school accounting, trust me details would bore you ) also a portion of time last night was spent in helping edit footage had taken with a few friends ( working on a secret footage, can't wait to share with everyone when the time is right )

We keep getting bombarded with Emails about EID , specifically by 14 cultural clubs on campus at my uni will be hosting an event for it, thought I'll hit that up but that's on Sunday! That reminds me, last night was also spent keeping uptodate with Whatsonawards and all the winners, WildPeeta, Danny Neville, Huda's Beauty and more!  Congrats to all the winners :-)

( today's pic is of a really cool tattoo I got for my tablet at Sharjah StartupWeekend ahem ahem which I won 3rd place with my team... hehe I sense another blog post for it, and Popcorn, my guilty snack I love having when studying )
